Lavrov explained what affects the timing of the special operation in Ukraine

The Russian army, unlike the Ukrainian military and national battalions, does not use civilians as a “human shield” – strikes are only on military targets, Foreign Minister Lavrov emphasized

The timing of Russia's military operation in Ukraine is determined by the order categorically avoid strikes on civilian infrastructure. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the French channel TF1.

“Yes, people are dying. But the operation takes such a long time, primarily because the Russian military involved in the operation are ordered to categorically avoid attacks and strikes on civilian infrastructure, — he said.

According to the minister, strikes are carried out only on military facilities, accumulations of equipment and manpower. Lavrov pointed out that the Russian army, unlike the Ukrainian military and national battalions, does not use the civilian population as a “human shield”.

He recalled that the national battalions place heavy weapons in residential areas— near schools, hospitals, kindergartens.

Earlier, on May 24, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Moscow, when carrying out the tasks of the military operation in Ukraine, “is not chasing deadlines.”

He expressed confidence that the tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin would be fulfilled. “Nazism must either be 100% eradicated, or it will raise its head in a few years,” — concluded Patrushev.
