According to the department, none of the crew members were injured, they managed to put out the fire. The Russian military inspected the cargo ship and escorted it to the port of Yeysk, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The ministry claims that the Ukrainian authorities have previously tried to evacuate Azov members. from Mariupol, including with the help of helicopters, but “previous actions failed.” In particular, on March 28, the department reported a downed Mi-8 helicopter heading for the city for these purposes.
